Babcock/Webb Wildlife Management Area - Day 2

This was our second afternoon at Babcock/Webb. The clouds were very active and gave us all kinds of wonderful photographic opportunities, but the rain chased us away after a couple of hours. It was a great day of photography!

Photographing the scene from a different angle. Let me tell you, doing squats at the age of 76 is GOOD exercise!

We weren’t able to stay very long because of the rain, but on the way out this magnificent cloud was hanging over Webb Lake. The power and size of the cloud is humbling.

I love Florida’s pine trees. Each branch has a tuft of pines that resemble pom-poms of cheerleaders. When the sun hits the trees, as they are in this photo, each pom-pom shines with a beautiful glow.

It was a short, but wondrous day at Babcock/Webb. I am very thankful to those who came before us and saw the need to save this part of Florida. If they hadn’t saved the land, it would have been either orange groves or housing tracts. THANK YOU for saving the beauty for the future. We need to make sure it is continued to be saved for those that come after us.
